This is a blog to share my artwork and love of pastels. Being a member of Daily Painters gives me the incentive to paint everyday. I hope to make consistent progress through daily practice.

Tyler - 12" x 16" Pastel - SOLD
A beautiful chow/golden mix...it was my pleasure to paint him. This was a 60th birthday present for the client's Dad. Hope he loves it.
All paintings shown here are for sale. Commissions are also welcome...all subjects, especially pet portraits! If interested in a painting, email me at hurshaw@aol.com . Payment can be made thru Paypal.
Pastels must be handled carefully until framed under glass, but then they will last forever. The art will be shipped to you mounted, matted, protected with glassine paper, and ready to frame in a standard size frame.
I spent countless hours drawing and painting when I was a kid. You might call me an artistic "late bloomer", however. The daughter of an artist, I re-discovered my passion for art after taking a recreational painting class at the age of 43, and haven't looked back!
I love the instantaneous nature of the pastel medium. There are an infinite number of subjects to explore. When painting, I never tire of trying to capture the magic of light and color and composition. I'm not always successful, but when I am it's one of the best feelings of accomplishment there is!
